Should Transgender Education start in TK as a Cupertino (CUSD) teacher advocated?

  • by

Last month, parents at Dilworth Elementary School in the Cupertino Union School District (CUSD) revealed that a teacher in a TK (Transition Kindergarten) class educated little boys to wear a skirt, triggering a strong parent backlash. Most TK students are only four or five years old, and their understanding of gender is still forming. Children in TK sometimes struggle to even differentiate between “he” and “she” or may even accidentally use the wrong restroom, even without any influence from adults. The question is: should an innocent child be treated as a testing ground for transgender education?

If you believe sex education should be age-appropriate, please sign the petition below and speak at the next CUSD board meeting: 6pm, September 26, 1309 S. Mary Avenue, Suite 150, Sunnyvale, CA 94087

Why is this issue so urgent? Because the CUSD teachers union (Cupertino Education Association, CEA) is trying to make it a big deal and forcing CUSD to follow its agenda. If parents don’t speak up, the school districts will be swayed by radicals to promote transgender education to young children.

In fact, when CUSD administrators first became aware of this issue, they tried to calm things down by reassuring parents: The teacher never tried to educate or teach transgender concepts. It’s only about answering a child’s question: can boys wear skirts? The answer is of course: yes. Because these personal preferences and choices should not be restricted. Parents, please rest assured that this is just an individual case and it has nothing to do with the sex education in our school district.

However, this TK teacher is an active promoter of transgender education and didn’t appreciate the efforts of the school district. Instead, he insisted that he was “TEACHING” students and there was nothing wrong. In addition, he is supported by some administrators such as the principal at Dilworth, and the most powerful force behind him is the teachers union. They not only want to defend this method of sex education but also require the school district to face up to this problem and promote “correct sex education” to all CUSD schools. Look at this teacher, Eli Dinh, speaking at a school district board meeting, showing no regret for his actions.

You can also watch speeches from other teachers and the CEA (Teachers Union) president, Kate Lee, all expressing their support for Eli Dinh. They even criticized parents who complained about Eli Dinh:

After investigation, parents discovered that this teacher, Eli Dinh, has pushed for radical sex education in the San Jose school district where he used to teach. He launched a so-called petition to “protect LGBTQ+” and forced the school district to accept their standard of “correct” sex education. Here is the news link.

Checking Eli Dinh’s resume, we can see that he will receive tenure in March 2025. Put simply, if our school district does not follow what the San Jose School District did, he can stay in CUSD forever after receiving tenure. By then, if Dilworth’s parents make too much noise, most likely our school district would transfer him to another CUSD school, but it won’t be able to let him leave at all. Therefore, please do not think that this matter has nothing to do with you only because Dilworth is not your home school. If parents in the CUSD school district continue to remain silent, allowing teachers to advocate for whatever education they want to provide, allow the Union candidates to hold the majority of school board seats, then every elementary school student in our school district in the future may be forced to be exposed to radical transgender education at an early age.
